Master in Global Health

This full-time, two-year program aims to study major contemporary health issues from both interdisciplinary and international perspectives. The mission of the MScGH is to equip students with the tools necessary to understand and analyze health problems whose determinants are interdependent and whose complexity transcends national borders and sectors.

The international transmission of infectious diseases such as Ebola or Influenza, the growing resistance of bacterial infections to antibiotics, the surge in chronic diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems, health issues linked to population aging, and the impact of climate change on health are intersectoral and transnational challenges that require collaboration and cooperation among multiple stakeholders.

To address these challenges, new training opportunities are needed in addition to traditional programs in medicine and public health. The MScGH seeks to combine the most relevant approaches to global health by integrating perspectives from all concerned academic disciplines, as well as from global health actors based in Geneva and beyond. The MScGH is specifically designed to leverage the rich environment of International Geneva. It provides an opportunity to study where many global health issues are discussed and to gain practical training in settings such as NGOs and international organizations.
